Roasted Tomato Sauce

• Take a bag of tomatoes – preferably romas.  Slice them lengthwise.
• Spread them on a baking tray cut face up.  I like to put baking paper underneath them, but it isn’t really necessary.
• If you want to, sprinkle over some dried basil and oregano and a clove or two of crushed garlic.  Brush or drizzle a little olive oil over the top.
• Put into the oven at about 180 deg C and leave until they’re quite soft – perhaps half an hour or so.
• Put them all into a jug and puree using a hand blender (or blend/puree using a different tool) and its ready to serve!  You have all the flavouring etc in with the roasting – no further cooking required.
